Description

This Ethernet LAN to RS-232 converter by Delock provides a convenient solution to integrate RS-232 devices into a LAN infrastructure via plug and play. It supports connections to RS-232 devices such as scanners, machines, instruments, routers, IoT devices, etc. A Windows application enables a central control of Ethernet LAN converters. This includes the selection of the desired network interfaces, the configuration of the COM port settings as well as the functions for manual or automatic connections, password protection, device name and MAC hardware addresses.

In the Local Area Network or Wireless Local Area Network the converter interacts with the MAC hardware address (device address) without using the TCP/IP protocol. This reduces the response time between the computers and the RS-232 devices with very low latencies. Using the Ethernet protocol avoids furthermore the required configuration of IP addresses. The Ethernet LAN converter is compatible with current Ethernet and RS-232 standards and achieves a maximum data rate of up to 100 Mbps.
