DisplayPort Alternate Mode
DisplayPort Alternate Mode - also called "DP Alt Mode" - allows you to connect a monitor to the USB Type-C™ port of the device. If the USB Type-C™ port supports DP Alt Mode, data can be transferred to the monitor via adapter or cable.
DisplayLink
DisplayLink is a method of transferring image data via the USB interface. A specially installed DisplayLink chipset, e.g. in a docking station, receives the data and transmits it to the display, making it possible to operate several monitors in the extended desktop or mirror mode.
Especially for Mac OS operating systems (also for devices with M1 and M2 chipset), the DisplayLink chipset enables enhanced screen functions.
